On the 18th of October 2012, the York Butter Factory was the proud host for the BlackBerry JamHack Melbourne 2012.

Teams gathered at the York Butter Factory for an intense 40-hour hackathon to build the next best application for the upcoming Blackberry 10 platform, utilising the BlackBerry 10 Adobe AIR SDK, BlackBerry 10 Native SDK or BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK frameworks.

While all the teams involved showed incredible tenacity and creativity, Team Hive (consisting of Lyn Nagara, Mike Ebinum, Brendan Graetz, and York Butter Factory resident Edward Hooper) were eventually declared the winners of the Blackberry Jam Hack.

Team Hive won an all-expense paid trip to Bangkok to compete with 9 other teams from the SEA region for the title of Asia Pacific champions. They were also awarded with the chance to work from the York Butter Factory in preparation for the SEA Finals in Bangkok.
